CZN – Parallel Commutator
Copper, zinc, nickel: the metals in João Pais Filipe's handmade gongs, and the letters in CZN. With Valentina Magaletti and Leon Marks he stretches two pieces past fifteen minutes each, rhythm slowly dissolving into overtone and drone. Percussion as instrument and as material. The first record on Orator, Oath's home for raw, mostly unplugged experiments. Recorded at Abbey Road and built from drums, gongs and resonant metal: a patient, hypnotic study of shifting texture.
