Placid Angles – Canada
A new chapter in John Beltran's long-running Placid Angles, written after travelling through Canada. The old vocabulary is all here, ethereal texture, breakbeat memory, melodic fragility, now in conversation with Sophia Stel, Tom VR and Yussh. Slow-moving scale on the title track, sharper breaks on Hero BK. An archive still being written. Ambient house, early electronic music and breakbeat nostalgia, shaped with present-tense clarity across eleven tracks.
